Tasmania’s cold, nutrient-rich waters offer some of the best temperate-water foraging in the world. This 2-Day Spearfishing & Freediving Course is designed to transform beginners into ethical, safe, and efficient underwater hunters.

Whether you are based in the rugged Tasman Peninsula or the stunning Freycinet Coast, this course bridges the gap between basic snorkeling and proficient breath-hold hunting.

Level up your ocean game with a comprehensive "Spearo" foundations course. This experience combines the technical discipline of freediving with the ancient art of the hunt. You will move through dry theory, pool drills, and multiple ocean sessions to master everything from the physiology of a breath-hold to the mechanics of your speargun. Our goal is to create "Huntsman" divers who prioritize safety, respect for marine life, and the ability to bring home a sustainable catch.

During multiple dry practical and theory sessions, a pool session and multiple ocean dives, we'll cover the physiology of depth, breathholding, equalisation, handling equipment, safety protocols, and of course spearfishing skills and hunting techniques to make you a proficient underwater hunter gatherer with an expansive knowledge of how your equipment works.

Courses are based out of Bicheno and the Freycinet Peninsula, or Hobart and the Tasman Peninsula.
