The SSI Beginner Freediving Course is the start of your journey into the world of freediving. You will learn the foundations of freediving, including the physiology behind the sport as well as mindfulness and relaxation techniques to enable you to safely hold your breath. These skills will enable you to dive to depths of up to 20 metres on a single breath.

Meet at UNSW Aquatic Centre, Randwick
Theory Session: Understanding the physiology of freediving.
Breath-holding & Mindfulness Session: A practical session which teaches you mindfulness and relaxation strategies to enable you to safely and comfortably hold your breath.
Break for lunch
Pool Session: Put your new knowledge to the test in the confined water session. Work on static breath-holding, finning, streamlining & no-fins technique for freediving, in-water safety and rescue skills.
Day 2: 8am - 1pm (approx.)
Meet at The Spit, Mosman
Ocean Depth Session 1: Pre-dive relaxation, buoyancy check, line diving technique and equalisation practice, free immersion technique.
Break for morning tea
Ocean Depth Session 2: depth advancement, constant weight freediving technique, safety and rescue skills.
