This 11-day round trip from Sorong is Blue Pearl's most complete Raja Ampat route, scheduled in late November and December. It covers southern Misool and Farondi, Arborek and the central Dampier Strait, the Fam Islands and Piaynemo, two days in the far northern Wayag group, then a final day back in the Dampier Strait.

With more time, the itinerary stops rushing. You get a night dive hunting Raja Ampat pygmy seahorses at Arborek Jetty, a village visit on Arborek, an overnight anchorage in Wayag and a slow cruise south with a talk from your guide. December departures run over the festive season, so you may spend Christmas or New Year among the karst islands.

Itinerary

Day 1: Sorong
Board in Sorong, briefing and a check dive near Sorong. Overnight cruise south.

Day 2: Misool and Jellyfish Lake
Dives at Four Kings or Gorgonian Passage, a Jellyfish Lake snorkel, The Coral Library and a night dive at Dunia Kecil.

Day 3: Misool
Boo Window and Whale Rock, a beach stop at Yillet, Karang Bayangan and a night dive at Romeo.

Day 4: Farondi
Three dives including Magic Mountain and caves with rock art, a land excursion to Balbulol, then cruise north.

Day 5: Arborek
Morning dives at Manta Sandy, an Arborek village visit, a jetty dive and a night dive for pygmy seahorses.

Day 6: Yangefo
Four dives at Melissa's Garden, Mayhem and Citrus Ridge.

Day 7: Fam and Piaynemo
Dives at My Reef and the Fam Islands, the Piaynemo viewpoint and a jetty night dive.

Day 8: Wayag
Two dives on Wayag's reefs, the Wayag viewpoint trek and a final dive. Overnight at anchor in Wayag.

Day 9: Wayag and cruise south
Two more Wayag dives, then a relaxed cruise south with a guide presentation.

Day 10: Dampier Strait
Two final dives at Manta Sandy, Manta Ridge or Cape Kri, a beach barbecue and bill settlement after dinner.

Day 11: Disembark
Breakfast on board, disembark in Sorong and transfer to Domine Eduard Osok Airport (SOQ).

Requirements

Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent from any recognised agency) is required.
Minimum of 50 logged dives recommended by the operator.
Nitrox certification is required to dive on nitrox.
Valid dive insurance is strongly recommended (DAN short-term cover can be bought through the operator).
A signed liability release and diver medical questionnaire are required before departure.

Mandatory fees (paid on board)

Marine park fees and port taxes: USD 250 per trip.

Life happens, so we keep cancellations simple. Enjoy free cancellation for 14 days from the time of booking, or find an equally qualified replacement up to 30 days before your departure.

More Information

Life on board
Blue Pearl carries a maximum of 20 guests in 10 cabins, looked after by about 20 crew. Between dives you can sink into the outdoor whirlpool, grab a drink at one of two bars, stretch out on sun loungers on the sun deck or book a massage in the spa room. The air-conditioned indoor saloon doubles as a cinema, and there is gym equipment, a business centre, free Wi-Fi and free laundry. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and snorkelling gear are free to use.

Dining
Three meals a day on full-diving days, served buffet style, mixing Western and Indonesian dishes. Drinking water, tea, coffee and snacks are available all day. Specialty coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are charged on board. Most trips include a beach or top-deck barbecue (weather permitting).

Built for diving
Diving is run from three tenders with a large dive deck, rinse hoses, a fresh water shower and personal gear storage. Nitrox and 12-litre tanks with weights and belts are included, DIN adaptors are available and 15-litre tanks can be rented. The team includes four dive instructors with a guest-to-guide ratio of 6:1, and reef hooks, SMBs and GPS units are available on request. Photographers get a dedicated camera station with charging points, a camera table, separate rinse tanks and storage for underwater cameras.

The vessel
M/Y Blue Pearl is a 48.2-metre aluminium motor yacht, Pearl Fleet's new Indonesia boat, built to international standards with modern navigation and safety systems. Each tender carries safety equipment including oxygen, first aid kits and VHF radio or satellite phone. Onboard payment by American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa or cash.

Rooms

Master Suite (Upper Deck)

The only suite on board sits at the forward end of the upper deck with a 270-degree sea view. It measures 36 mÂ² with a double bed, ensuite bathroom with hot shower and air conditioning. In-room: hairdryer, safety deposit box, USB charging ports, inter-room phone, separate bath and face towel hangers. Price per person, twin share. 1 cabin (#309).
