Itinerary
Itinerary
- Phase 1: Digital E-Learning (Prior to Arrival)
- Complete the online PADI Drift Diver e-Learning modules and knowledge reviews at your own pace before the practical training day.
- Day 1: Theory Briefing & Ocean Drift Dives
- 07:00 AM – Arrival & Gear Setup
- Meet at the Rainbow Beach shop, assemble scuba gear, and complete a pre-dive briefing on drift diving techniques, ocean currents, surface marker buoy (SMB) deployment, and group buddy protocols.
- 08:00 AM – Boat Charter Departure
- Depart for Wolf Rock Marine Park aboard the dive vessel.
- 08:45 AM – Drift Dive 1 (Buoyancy, Trim & SMB Deployment)
- Execute your first drift dive along Wolf Rock's current lines. Practice buoyant entry, drift positioning, staying with the group in current, and executing an underwater SMB deployment.
- 09:45 AM – Surface Interval & Briefing
- Enjoy an on-board surface interval, review surface pickup protocols with the skipper, and brief for the second drift route.
- 10:45 AM – Drift Dive 2 (Navigation & Group Drift Logistics)
- Complete your second drift dive, practicing emergency current maneuvers, navigation without fixed points, and coordinated safety stops using drift lines or SMBs.
- 12:15 PM – Return & Certification Finalization
- Return to Rainbow Beach marina, rinse and store gear, log your drift dives, and process your official PADI Drift Diver certification.
