The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course is an exhilarating and educational diving program that allows you to expand your diving skills and dive deeper, for longer, and with reduced nitrogen exposure.
The course begins with an introduction to Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) diving, also known as Nitrox, which is a breathing gas mixture with a higher oxygen content than regular air. You’ll learn about the benefits and considerations of diving with EANx, including extended bottom time, reduced surface intervals, and decreased nitrogen absorption.
Online Learning
Through the interactive eLearning modules, you’ll delve into topics such as gas laws, dive planning, managing oxygen exposure, analyzing gas mixtures, and using specialized dive computers or tables for Nitrox dives. The engaging multimedia content, including videos, quizzes, and interactive simulations, will help you grasp the concepts and apply them effectively during your dives.
Open Water Dives
One of the most exciting aspects of the Enriched Air Nitrox course is the opportunity to conduct actual Nitrox dives. You’ll have the chance to practice analyzing gas mixtures, setting up your equipment for EANx diving, and implementing safety procedures specific to Nitrox dives. Under the guidance of a certified PADI instructor, you’ll explore the underwater world while experiencing the benefits of longer bottom times and shorter surface intervals.
One Nitrox Dive is included in the course. However, many divers chose to combine the PADI Advanced Open Water with the Nitrox Course to get more dives with Enriched Air / Nitrox
Certification
Upon successful completion of the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course, you’ll receive a certification that allows you to dive with EANx mixes up to 40% oxygen. This certification opens up a whole new realm of diving possibilities, including wreck dives, deep dives, and repetitive diving scenarios. You’ll have the confidence and knowledge to fully embrace the advantages of Nitrox diving and enhance your overall diving experience.

- Practical Training Session: Hands-on instruction on how to use an oxygen analyzer, verify cylinder contents, and fill out a nitrox fill log.
- Dive Computer Integration: Specialized training on how to program your dive computer for enriched air mixes (up to 40% oxygen).
- Two Enriched Air Dives (Optional but Recommended): While Nitrox can be completed as a "dry" course, we include two open-water dives to let you experience the benefits of extended no-decompression limits firsthand.
- Full Equipment Rental: Use of all standard scuba gear, plus dedicated Nitrox-serviced cylinders.
- PADI International Certification: Processing of your Enriched Air Diver eCard, valid for life at any dive center worldwide.
- Marine Park Fees: All local environmental sanctuary permits for your training dives.

This course is easily integrated into a day of fun diving or added to another certification.
08:30 AM – Theory Review & Analysis
Meet your instructor at the center for a quick review of your eLearning. You’ll move straight to the gas blending station to learn the most critical skill of a Nitrox diver: analyzing your own tank. You will practice calibrated oxygen analysis and learn to identify "MOD" (Maximum Operating Depth) based on your gas mix.
10:30 AM – Adventure Dive 1: The Nitrox Advantage
Head out to the reef with your first tank of Enriched Air. While air divers might have to ascend sooner, you’ll enjoy a longer "no-stop" time, allowing you more minutes at depth to watch the turtles or follow the sardine shoal.
01:30 PM – Adventure Dive 2: Repetitive Diving
This is where Nitrox truly shines. Because you absorbed less nitrogen on your first dive, your surface interval is more efficient, and your second dive allows for significantly more bottom time than a standard air dive.
03:30 PM – Logbooks & Certification
Return to the shop, complete your logs, and finalize your certification. You are now officially a Nitrox Diver!

A completed PADI Medical Statement is required. If any "Yes" answers are marked, a physician's written clearance is mandatory.
Please consider in your planning that you are not allowed to fly for a minimum 18 hours from your last dive. It is recommended to have 1 day to rest before flying back.
