The true secrets of the ocean often lie just beyond the reach of standard recreational limits. Below 18 meters (60 feet), the underwater world changes: light softens, the hustle and bustle of the shallow reef gives way to a serene stillness, and entirely new marine ecosystems emerge.

The Maldives is famous for its dramatic drop-offs, deep-water thilas (underwater pinnacles), and deep channels (kandus) where pelagic giants roam. This course equips you with the specialized skills, safety protocols, and confidence needed to safely explore depths up to 40 meters (130 feet).

What You'll Learn

• Deep Dive Planning & Safety: Master the physics and physiology of deep diving. Learn how to calculate your no-decompression limits, manage your nitrogen load, and plan your descent and ascent paths safely.

• Managing Nitrogen Narcosis: Understand the physical and psychological effects of "the rapture of the deep." Learn how to identify symptoms of narcosis in yourself and your buddy, and the immediate steps to take to mitigate them.

• Advanced Gas Management: Discover how rapid air consumption is at depth. You will learn to monitor your pressure gauge with precision, compute air-consumption rates, and always maintain a conservative reserve.

• Buoyancy & Descent Control: Learn how to handle the rapid compression of your exposure suit at depth. Master smooth, controlled descents and ascents, and practice executing safety and simulated decompression stops.
