Designed for certified divers who want to venture beyond standard Open Water depth limits, this program provides the knowledge, skills, and planning techniques required to explore deep walls, oceanic pinnacles, and historic shipwrecks down to a maximum depth of 40 meters (130 feet).
Deep diving opens access to entirely new marine ecosystems, but it also requires heightened awareness, careful gas management, and a firm grasp of deep diving physics and safety considerations.
What You Will Learn & Practice
- Deep Dive Planning & Gas Management: Learn to calculate air consumption rates, plan conservative bottom times, and manage turn-around pressures for deeper dive profiles.
- Physiology & Safety at Depth: Understand the causes, symptoms, and management of nitrogen narcosis and decompression sickness (DCS).
- Specialized Deep Equipment: Practice using redundant gas sources, drop tanks, dive computers, surface marker buoys (SMBs), and specialized underwater lights.
- In-Water Practical Dives: Complete four training dives gradually extending your depth, honing your buoyancy, emergency ascent protocols, and safety stop management.

Itinerary
- Phase 1: Digital Theory (Prior to In-Person Training)
- Complete online Deep Diver specialty e-learning modules, covering deep dive physics, nitrogen narcosis, decompression sickness risk management, redundant air supply planning, and gas consumption calculations.
- Day 1: Orientation, Gas Planning & Deep Dives 1 & 2
- 07:00 AM – Briefing & Equipment Assembly - Meet at the dive center for gear check, review of turn pressures, gas planning calculations, and safety protocols for deep descents.
- 08:30 AM – Deep Dive 1 (18m – 24m / 60ft – 80ft) - Focus on controlled descents without a line, buoyancy control at depth, and monitoring gas consumption rates.
- 11:00 AM – Deep Dive 2 (24m – 30m / 80ft – 100ft) - Practice color changes at depth due to light absorption, testing for signs of nitrogen narcosis, and executing precise safety stops.
- 01:30 PM – Surface Interval & Debriefing - Log dives, review gas consumption data, and calculate surface interval requirements for Day 2.
- Day 2: Maximum Depth Training & Certification
- 07:30 AM – Advanced Deep Planning Briefing - Detailed review of emergency decompression protocols, redundant air system use, and deep navigation techniques.
- 08:30 AM – Deep Dive 3 (30m – 40m / 100ft – 130ft) - Execute maximum depth training dive (up to 40m). Practice navigation, dive computer management, and gas management at depth.
- 11:00 AM – Deep Dive 4 (30m / Emergency Protocol Practice) - Practice simulated emergency decompression safety stops, deploying an SMB from depth, and using a redundant air supply (pony bottle).
- 01:30 PM – Certification Finalization - Return to shore, rinse and store gear, complete dive logs with your instructor, and process your Deep Diver specialty certification.

Suitable for divers with Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another agency) age 16 (with Parental Consent) years old or older. If you haven’t dived in over 12 months, a quick "Scuba Review" or Refresher session is required for your safety.
Not suitable for pregnant women or anyone that has a history of certain medical conditions (especially those affecting the respiratory, circulatory, or nervous systems—e.g., severe asthma, epilepsy, recent major surgery, or heart conditions)
A completed Medical Statement is required. If any "Yes" answers are marked, a physician's written clearance is mandatory.
