Pack your fins and get ready for an underwater spectacle! We are journeying to the sun-soaked coast of Far North NSW to explore one of Australia’s top-rated marine sanctuaries: Julian Rocks Marine Reserve.

Known to the local Arakwal people as Nguthungulli, this incredible rock formation is more than just a dive site—it is a biological sweet spot. sitting at the unique convergence where warm tropical currents from the north meet nutrient-rich temperate waters from the south. The result? An explosion of biodiversity that rivals the Great Barrier Reef.
While Julian Rocks is famous for its resident turtles and wobbegongs, summer brings the heavy hitters. You will have the highest probability of encountering:

Leopard Sharks: Watch these docile, beautifully patterned sharks resting on the sandy bottom or cruising through the currents in large numbers.
Manta Rays: Witness the majestic, acrobatic dance of the Mantas as they glide through the cleaning stations.

You can attend this adventure regardless of your freediving experience - Nguthungulli is a stunning site that can be enjoyed both freediving and snorkelling.

You should be a confident swimmer to attend this trip, as we will be diving in deep water with potential surge.

As this is a socal dive weekend, there will be no formal freediving training during the dives at Nguthungulli, however there will be freediving instructors in the water to assist with any tips or advice you may need.

Transport to, from and around Cabarita Beach is not included in the price, however we will create a group chat to arrange car pooling.

Cancellations

Life happens so we keep cancellations simple. Enjoy free cancellation for 14 days from the time of booking or find an equally qualified suitable replacement up to 30 days prior to diving.
