Ready to take your diving skills to the next level? Our Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed for certified Open Water divers who want to explore a wider variety of dive sites and refine their underwater techniques. This exciting course opens the door to new adventures and makes you more confident and competent underwater. What you’ll learn:
This hands-on course focuses on experiencing and developing your skills through 5 different Adventure Dives, each designed to introduce you to a new diving specialty. Two of these dives are required and fundamental, while the other three are yours to choose from according to your interests!
The 5 Dives of your Advanced Adventure:
- Deep Dive (Required):
Learn the key considerations and techniques for diving safely to greater depths (usually up to 30 meters / 100 feet). You will understand the effects of pressure, air management, and deep dive planning. - Underwater Navigation (Required):
Master the art of navigating underwater using a compass and natural landmarks. You will develop essential skills for planning and executing underwater routes, making your explorations more efficient and self-sufficient.
Choose three adventure dives from the following (list may vary):
- Night Dive:
Discover the magic of the underwater world after sunset. Learn to communicate and navigate with a dive light, and observe nocturnal marine life, often very different from that of daytime. - Wreck Diving:
Explore the mysteries and history of wrecks. You will learn exploration techniques, safety considerations, and the importance of preserving these fascinating sites. - Peak Performance Buoyancy:
Perfect your buoyancy control for a smoother dive, reduced air consumption, and better coral protection. It’s the key to graceful and respectful diving. - Fish Identification:
Improve your knowledge of marine life. Learn to recognize different fish species and their behavior, enriching every dive. - Drift Diving:
Discover the thrill of going with the flow. You’ll learn planning and communication techniques for drift dives. - Underwater Photography or Videography:
Capture the beauty of the underwater world. Learn the basics of composition, lighting, and settings to create memorable images and videos.

Itinerary
Itinerary
Day 1: Buoyancy Control & Navigational Precision
- 08:00 AM – Check-in & Equipment Fitting: Meet your instructional team, verify your entry-level credentials, and adjust your advanced training equipment.
- 09:15 AM – Adventure Dive 1: Peak Performance Buoyancy (Highly Recommended Elective): Head to a sheltered reef slope. Learn how to fine-tune your trim, use your lungs for minor depth adjustments, and hover completely weightless to reduce air consumption and protect fragile marine life.
- 11:00 AM – Surface Interval: Relax on the boat or shore while your instructor runs through visual tracking and compass calibration patterns.
- 12:00 PM – Adventure Dive 2: Underwater Navigation (Core Requirement): Master the mechanics of underwater tracking. Practice measuring distances via kick-cycles and elapsed time, navigating precise kick patterns using a compass, and utilizing natural topography (such as sand ripples and rock formations) to find your way back to the boat.
- 01:30 PM – Elective Briefing: Return to the dive center to log your metrics and prepare for the specialized deep-water training profiles.
Day 2: Depth Progression & Specialized Exploration
- 08:00 AM – Deep Dive Safety Review: A thorough morning briefing covering physics, nitrogen management, gas consumption changes, and safety stop protocols.
- 09:15 AM – Adventure Dive 3: Deep Diving (Core Requirement): Safely descend past your previous 18-meter limitations down to a maximum of 30 meters. Observe color changes under pressure, experience the physical realities of depth, and practice vigilant monitoring of your dive computer gauges.
- 11:15 AM – Surface Interval: Enjoy light refreshments on the boat while preparing for your remaining elective profiles.
- 12:30 PM – Adventure Dives 4 & 5: Your Custom Electives: Complete your custom track with your chosen specialties:
- Wreck Diving / Drift Diving: Learn how to navigate moving water currents or explore historical wreckage sites safely.
- Fish Identification / Underwater Photography: Focus on identifying marine families or practicing basic composition and lighting adjustments.
- 03:00 PM – Logbook Validation & Graduation: Cross-reference your marine sightings, stamp your official dive logs, and finalize your global Advanced Open Water Diver digital certification!
