Scuba Diving Refresher Course in Texas

• Instruction: Hands-on review guided by a certified SSI instructor.
• Pool Session: Dedicated pool time to practice skills and regain underwater comfort (3–4 hours for standard; up to 10 hours across 1–2 sessions for extended).
• Gear Use: Complete scuba equipment rental (BCD, regulator, tanks, weights, mask, and fins).
• Theory Refresh: Review of dive safety, dive planning, equipment setup, and emergency procedures.
• Recognition: Official digital SSI Scuba Skills Update recognition card added to your digital logbook.

• Hour 1 | Arrival & Knowledge Review
  • Meet your SSI instructor at the dive center, submit dive credentials, and complete a quick theory refresher covering equalization, pressure/volume laws, hand signals, and dive planning.
  • Inspect and assemble your scuba unit under instructor supervision to refresh equipment setup procedures.
• Hours 2–3 | Pool Skill Circuit
  • Enter the pool to review and master core scuba skills: mask clearing and removal, regulator recovery and clearing, buoyancy control and hovering, and out-of-air emergency drills (alternate air source sharing).
• Hour 4 | Free Swim, Debrief & Certification
  • Practice finning techniques, trim, and buoyancy during a short free-swim period.
  • Exit the pool, disassemble and rinse gear, and complete your digital logbook update to receive your official SSI Scuba Skills Update card.

Suitable for divers with Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another agency) age 16 (with Parental Consent) years old or older. If you haven’t dived in over 12 months, a quick "Scuba Review" or Refresher session is required for your safety.

Not suitable for pregnant women or anyone that has a history of certain medical conditions (especially those affecting the respiratory, circulatory, or nervous systems—e.g., severe asthma, epilepsy, recent major surgery, or heart conditions)

A completed Medical Statement is required. If any "Yes" answers are marked, a physician's written clearance is mandatory.
