Freediving Friends Under Ice – THE freediving under ice lollapalooza in lake Iso-Melkutin, Loppi, Finland.

Freediving Fisherman & Friends organizes 5 days international freediving camp at Iso-Melkutin in March 2026. The event has the guaranteed boogie together with ice freediving specialist including Guinness World Record holder in under ice DNF, Olavi Paananen!

There will be several tent saunas on the ice for warming up, and plenty of cold water right under the ice for cooling off. Multiple lanes will be built under the ice for both depth and distance dives, as well as for fun and photography.

Accommodation and evening gatherings will take place at the Grand Villa of Räyskälä, which offers plenty of space along with warm saunas and hot tubs. The Grand Villa also has two kitchens where cooking is possible.

The event price includes the freediving event with saunas and safety arrangements, as well as accommodation (if you have chosen package that includes accommodation).

Accommodation and freediving arrangements (tracks on ice, safety organization, saunas on ice and nice atmosphere! Also, evenings we can present more information about ice diving if there is interest as we have several ice freediving specialists at the location for example Olavi Paananen - the Guinness World Record holder in under ice DNF.

Itinerario

We stay in Räyskälä Grand Villa and move to the dive location every day. Dive location is about 15 mins away by car.

This event runs for 6 days from Tuesday 3 March to Sunday 8 March 2026.

Day Passes, without accommodation: available on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday
4 days 3 nights, with accommodation: arrival Tuesday 03 to Friday 6 March - 3 days of dives from Wednesday to Friday
3 days 2 nights, with accommodation: arrival Friday 06 to Sunday 08 March - 2 days of dives on Saturday and Sunday
6 days 5 nights, with accommodation: arrival Tuesday 03 to Sunday 08 March - 5 days of dives from Wednesday to Sunday

Importante

AIDA 2 certification is needed or similar. If you do not have AIDA 2 certificate but you feel you are competent enough as a freediver, please contact us.

Each diver must have valid personal diving insurance.

We recommend a 5mm freediving wetsuit. You'll also need neoprene socks and gloves, mask, fins and enough weights (5-8kg at least). Rental weights are available for hire.

A lanyard is mandatory for all dives: FreeXperience lanyards will be available for purchase.

Prior to arrival, all participants are required to submit a signed AIDA Medical Statement and Liability Release. These will be provided in advance.

Cancelaciones

Life happens so we keep cancellations flexible. Up to 30 days before your dive, you can reschedule, receive store credit, or nominate someone else to take your place. Cancel more than 31 days ahead for a full refund.

If the weather conditions are not safe to organize the event, it will be cancelled (thin ice). Then paid fees will be refunded.
