NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver in Boracay

Your first step to underwater adventure and exploration. With expert instruction and guidance you’ll learn the skill necessary to safely explore the underwater world and discover the magic of scuba.

During your NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver class, you will learn about modern dive equipment, diving sciences, responsible diving practices and the environment. Diving skills will be taught and practiced first in the comfort and convenience of a confined water environment and finally during your open water training dives in the warm, clear waters around Boracay with your NAUI Instructor.

Our entry-level certification course equips you with the skills and knowledge to dive safely in open water to a depth of up to 18m (60ft) in similar conditions. With NAUI’s internationally recognized certification, you’ll join a global community of safe, skilled, competent divers. 

What to Expect in Your NAUI Open Water Course

1. Academics
   • The NAUI eLearning online course will introduce scuba basics, dive planning, safety rules, and the NAUI philosophy of “Dive Safety Through Education.”
   • Topics include equipment use, pressure & buoyancy, dive tables/computers, and underwater communication.
   • Includes 8 Units and a final exam. Offered in several different languages.
2. Confined Water Training
   • Learn and practice essential scuba skills in a safe, controlled environment while neutrally buoyant.
   • Your instructor ensures you’re confident and comfortable before moving on.
3. Open Water Training Dives
   • Typically 4 dives completed over 2 days from our boat or shore.
   • You’ll apply the skills you learned in confined water while exploring real underwater environments.
   • Maximum training/certification depth is 18 meters / 60 feet.
   • Demonstrate mastery of required skills (like emergency ascents, buoyancy, mask and regulator skills).
   • Show responsible dive planning and safe buddy procedures.
   • Your instructor confirms you are a safe, confident diver.
4. Certification & Next Steps
   • Upon successful completion of both the online academics and the practical skills, you’ll earn your NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver certification, recognized worldwide.
   • You’ll be qualified to dive independently (with a buddy) to 18m/60ft and can continue on to Advanced or specialty courses.
