Begin your scuba journey with the SSI Open Water Diver course at GaiaOne in Bira, a globally recognized certification that opens the door to underwater exploration worldwide. Over 3–4 days, you’ll learn essential diving skills, safety procedures, and buoyancy control through a mix of theory, confined water practice, and open water dives. With small group instruction, GaiaOne ensures a personalized, safe, and comfortable learning experience.
- Confined Water Training: Build confidence in shallow water sessions, mastering mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy basics.
- Open Water Dives: Complete four dives at Bira’s stunning reefs and wall sites, practicing navigation, buoyancy, and buddy procedures.
- Certification: Upon completion, you’ll be certified to dive up to 18 meters worldwide, opening access to dive destinations across the globe.

Itinerario
Day 1: Theory, Equipment Setup & Confined Water Skills
- Morning (Orientation & Setup): Meet at the GaiaOne dive shop for registration, equipment sizing, and a briefing on basic scuba theory and safety rules.
- Afternoon (Confined Water Session): Practice essential underwater skills in shallow water: regulator clearing/recovery, mask clearing, buoyancy control, and buddy air-sharing procedures.
Day 2: Ocean Dives 1 & 2 (Max Depth 12m)
- Morning (Dive 1): Board the boat for your first open water dive along Bira's gentle sloping reefs. Practice basic skills at depth and experience your first guided ocean swim.
- Lunch: Included lunch at the center or on board.
- Afternoon (Dive 2): Complete your second ocean training dive, refining neutral buoyancy, finning techniques, and body positioning.
Day 3: Ocean Dives 3 & 4 (Max Depth 18m)
- Morning (Dive 3): Deepen your training up to 18 meters (60 feet), focusing on underwater navigation and controlled ascents.
- Lunch: Included lunch during the surface interval.
- Afternoon (Dive 4): Final certification dive demonstrating emergency skills and navigating Bira's reef walls.
Day 4 (Flexible / Finalization): Certification & Conservation
- Morning: Complete any remaining theory reviews or logbook sign-offs.
- Debrief: Receive your official SSI Open Water Diver certification, register your 4 adopted corals, and pick up your official GaiaOne t-shirt.
